Proposition. Full rational diagonals are discrete under lattice containment [fcap-004L]
Let \(Q\) be nondegenerate on a finite-dimensional rational space \(V\), choose a compatible compact-open reference tuple \(U\), and fix a rational basis \(b\). Let \(L_p\) be its \(\mathbb Z_p\)-span and \(H_p=\{g\in O_p:gL_p=L_p\}\) as in Proposition [fcap-004D]. Assume the eventual lattice containment \[U_p^O\subseteq H_p\quad \text {for all but finitely many primes }p.\] Then each rational diagonal subgroup \[\delta _{\mathbb A}^O(O(Q)),\qquad \delta _{\mathbb A}^{SO}(SO(Q)),\qquad \delta _{\mathbb A}^{\operatorname {Spin}}(\operatorname {Spin}(Q))\] is discrete in its full adelic group. In particular this holds for the integral tuple of Proposition [fcap-004D], its rational-basis changes and its finite shrinkings from Proposition [fcap-004E].
The separation has two independent parts: finite-place integrality forces rational matrix entries to be integers, and the real bound then forces the identity matrix. The finite projection discards the second condition. With the rational groups given the discrete topology, injectivity and the proved discrete images make these full diagonals topological embeddings; this argument asserts no such property for the finite diagonals.
[conrad2011adelic, Example 2.3, p. 3] proves discreteness
for rational points in classical affine full adelic points. The proof
above supplies the chosen-tuple version under its explicit containment
hypothesis, using Lemma [fcap-001C] for the Spin scalar kernel.
The exact O and SO criteria are
TauCeti.QuadraticMap.OrthogonalCompactOpens.discreteTopology_range_fullAdelicOrthogonalDiagonal_of_eventually_integral
and
TauCeti.QuadraticMap.OrthogonalCompactOpens.discreteTopology_range_fullAdelicSpecialOrthogonalDiagonal_of_eventually_integral;
these two formal statements even allow degenerate forms.
TauCeti's
TauCeti.QuadraticMap.OrthogonalCompactOpens.discreteTopology_range_fullAdelicSpinDiagonal
proves the Spin conclusion for every nondegenerate compatible tuple,
using a separate eventual-containment theorem. The explicit containment
assumption is retained here to expose the neighborhood argument.
