Corollary. The unselected graph does not determine the retained law [fdip-005L]

On selected backgrounds, the retained-precision spectrum does not factor through the isomorphism class of the unselected weighted incidence data \((\Pi ,w,m)\). In particular, that unselected class does not determine the retained Gaussian law up to a precision-intertwining isometry. This holds for either the directed or the signed graph groupoid.

This obstruction concerns forgetting the selector, not a failure of the selected-law formula: \((\Pi ,w,m,P)\) does determine \(\nu _b\). In the other direction, the weighted-cycle comparison fixes the coordinate selector and mass while changing the weights; its retained covariance changes. Together the examples show why both the weighted incidence data and the selector must be retained to specify the observed law. They supply no physical rule for how either datum varies.
