Lemma. Uniqueness from finite rational cubes [fdip-002I]

Let \(V\) be finite. Suppose two Borel measures \(\mu ,\nu \) on \(X_V\) agree on all bounded half-open coordinate boxes with rational endpoints and on the empty set. Assume explicitly that their common mass on every rational cube \(C_k=\{x\in X_V:-k<x(v)\le k\text { for every }v\in V\}\), \(k\ge 1\), is finite. Then \(\mu =\nu \). In particular the hypothesis holds if both assign the prescribed finite Lebesgue volumes to those boxes. For empty \(V\), a box is the singleton, and agreement of its mass gives the conclusion.

This is the localized uniqueness argument behind [tao2011measure, Proposition 1.7.11, pp. 197-199, preliminary version]. Mathlib's MeasureTheory.Measure.pi_eq characterizes a sigma-finite product by all measurable rectangles. TauCeti's MeasureTheory.Measure.ext_pi assumes a finite total first measure; it cannot be applied directly to positive-dimensional \(\lambda _V\). Bare agreement of arbitrary infinite measures on rational boxes is not the lemma stated here.
