Proposition. A Lorentz frame can be prescribed [fcap-002B]

Let \(V\) be four-dimensional over \(\mathbb R\), and let \(Q\) be a nondegenerate quadratic form with positive and negative indices \((1,3)\). Suppose \[Q(t)=1,\qquad Q(s)=-1,\qquad B_Q(t,s)=0.\] There is an isometry \(e:(\mathbb R^4,Q_{1,3})\simeq (V,Q)\) with \(e(e_0)=t\) and \(e(e_1)=s\). Moreover, \(H=\operatorname {span}(t,s)\) has an orthogonal complement of dimension two on which \(Q\) is negative definite. The sign convention for \(Q_{1,3}\) is the one fixed in Convention [fcap-0011].

The isometry transport in Proposition [fcap-0029] carries the standard first two Clifford generators to this prescribed pair and commutes with the Spin vector action. The hyperbolic split and quaternionic matrix calculation are already in Example [fcap-0026], which yields the abstract model \(\mathcal {C}\kern -2pt\ell (V,Q)\simeq M_2(\mathbb H)\). This does not identify a particular gamma-matrix homomorphism, its kernel, or its image.
