Notation. Notation for the finite preference model [ftip-008Z]

The finite preference model uses the following symbols, corresponding to the notation of The limits of preference data for post-training[zhao2025limits]:

\[ \mathcal Q\mapsto Q,\qquad \mathcal R\mapsto Y,\qquad \mathcal S_0\mapsto C_0,\qquad \mathcal Z\mapsto H, \] \[ \Phi \mapsto \mathfrak E,\qquad \mathcal D\mapsto \mu _Q,\qquad M\mapsto \mathfrak m. \]

Thus \(H\) denotes the source's finite internal-representation set, not a public interaction history. The family \(\mathfrak E\) contains admissible query encoders and is unrelated to the costed potential \(\Phi \) of Definition [ftip-005M].
