Trace quality and productive persistence [ftip-00P2]

FTIP asks which parts of a long-horizon trace remain useful to a later decision. The source horizon and selective-refinement observations are finite conditional evidence, while the trace record, persistence predicates, and build-repair example below make the retained events and state boundary explicit [dang2026selecting, Sections 3-7].

A useful horizon preserves the declared decision, evidence, verification, and recovery events while separating repeatability from task and strategy coverage. The fixed-budget protocol in § [ftip-00P3] supplies the finite selection, receipt, and contrast definitions needed to test that distinction.
